eleven

My little Sadie is now an eleven year old.
How did that happen??

Sadie is my one child that actually likes getting her picture taken (hence the massive amount of pics in this post).
Ok maybe like is too strong of a word.
Let's just say she is the only one that doesn't bolt the second she sees my camera (usually).

Sadie is my little miss crafty pants.
She would rather do that than anything.
She can make anything out of nothing.
It's quite amazing actually.

She is also my little fashionista(sp?).
She's been doing her own hair for years now and she is so good at it. She can straighten, curl, french braid, you name it.
It's so nice to have one less girls hair to do in the morning.
Sometimes I even get her to do Maysa's (and sometimes even gracie's) hair. It is so nice!
I never have to remind her to do her hair, because it is always done (unlike her older sis :))

Sadie is my stubborn child and won't stop until she gets what she wants. So after much, much whining pursuading, her pushover mother gave in and let her have just a few friends over for a late night party. Let's just say, I am not the biggest fan of big birthday parties with tons of friends (been there done that). Mainly because I'm a lazy parent. But also because I swear my kids get invited to b-day parties pretty much weekly. So annoying.

Sadie is getting pretty fun to shop for. She no longer cares for toys whatsoever. She is now into clothes, straighteners, hair things and products, nail polish etc. Right up my ally. For her birthday I got her her own straightener and she was thrilled to pieces. Her sibs tease her constantly about being a girly-girl, to which she strongly denies.

Here's a few pics of the girly on her birthday.

what a poser!!

yah I know the cake is amazing. Just call me Martha.
Thank you pinterest :)

7 months

ok, prepare yourself for a butt load of pictures.
I think I have a problem.
I can't stop taking pictures of this guy.

Little man is 7 months old today.
 SO Crazy!!

He is sooo much fun and I LOVE that I get to hang out with him every day.

I got him weighed last week and he is only 15 pounds 7 ounces
(and that's with clothes on).
10'th percentile.
So he's a small fry.
Hard to believe he came out at almost 10 pounds.
But all my baby's have been scrawny so I'm not too worried.

I started feeding him solids about a month ago.
He LOVES bananas, HATES squash (seriously, when I feed him that, he cries and will just hold it in his mouth - refusing to swallow).
I've never had a picky 7 month old.

He loves his toes and whenever he's laying on his back he's chowin' down.

He's just starting to sit on his own, but still tumbles over sometimes.
As you can tell from his shirt,he's a drooler.
It's pretty much a constant stream coming from his mouth at all times. But I guess I should just be grateful he doesn't spit up  (he seriously NEVER does).
I'm still waiting for a tooth to pop through, but nothing yet.

He is such a happy baby and I am in love with his laugh.
Nothing better than a hearty baby laugh.
We took him to Nashville a few weeks ago
and he was a champ.
He was so good and was so much fun to have there.

He gets mauled pretty much 24/7.
Maysa thinks that she is now big enough to carry him around.
Yikes!

He is the most inconsistent sleeper I've had.
He'll sleep through the night for a few nights,
and then he will want to nurse all night for a few nights.
I've tried everything to get him to be more consistent, but nothing makes a difference.
It's driving me bonkers!!
But I have to admit, I don't mind the extra snuggle time :)

Ever since he discovered his bottom lip, he sucks on it contantly.
It's so stinkin' adorable!

My goodness I love this kid!!

cattle drive

I know I've been pretty pathetic in the blogging department.
And I'm pretty sure no one reads this anymore.
Life with 5 kids and pinterest has proven to be somewhat busy :)

Anyways, so during Christmas holidays, we had to move some cattle closer to home to get ready for calving season.
The hubs likes to do that when the kids are off school-
it's like having 3 hired men in his own house :)
And the kids (and me) LOVE it!

I can hardly believe that these pictures were taken in January.
The weather has been down right freaky this year.
But I'm not complaining one single bit.

the hubs in action.
There's something about a man on a horse.
Mmmmmm.
Love it.

twelve

this little girlie went and turned 12 on me last week.
TWELVE!!!

I swear she was just a toddler like 3 days ago.

It's pretty safe to say that Gracie HATES getting her picture taken, even more than her dad does.
She's definatly my hardest to get pictures of.
But I bribed her with a friend party this year if she let me snap a few.

A few things about my Gracie:

she LOVES to read and is pretty much always attached to a book of some sort, usually the 600+ page ones.
She brings books everywhere she goes: restaurants, hockey games, car rides, you name it.
We've actually had to ground her from reading a few times.
I guess if that's the worst of her problems, she'll turn out ok.
As a result of the massive amounts of reading, she does great in school and is kind of a teacher's dream.

She is a great babysitter.
I can't even tell you how nice it is to have kids that can babysit.
It's life changing.

Gracie is the definition of a FARM GIRL.
But that pretty much goes without saying.

This picture pretty much sums her up.
She LOVES horses.
And she takes such good care of them.
And is such a great rider.
I would have to say she is her daddy's dream daughter.

She could spend hours, and she does, just playing out in the barns with the animals.

We're quite relieved that she (kind of) grew out of walking on all fours. She did that for years.
Not only would she walk/run on her hands and feet, but she would set up jumps and jump them on all fours. It was actually quite amazing to watch - kid has skills.
We were worried for a while.

I still can't believe I have a 12 year old.
I'm so not ready to have a teenager yet:)

Oh how I love this girl!!

And while I'm already blogging, I might as well add the token halloween pictures.
I was slackin' this year and got only a few pics of the kids in their costumes.
That's ok because we pretty much just recycled old costumes this year, except for my cute little (unhappy) security guard.

he was just playing the part

here's the only group picture I got.
Gracie was a cowgirl (super original), Sadie a jailbird (gracie's last years costume), Ryder a rodeo clown (same as last year), Maysa a bumblebee (same as last year).
Yah we put a lot of thought into our costumes this year.
